How to delete your Deliveroo account

Route checked by TraceErase on · Page last updated

On this page

The short answer

Deliveroo’s help page describes deleting a customer account on the website, and its privacy policy says this deletes the account and the personal information linked to it, except details Deliveroo must or has a reason to keep. The help page advises cancelling any Deliveroo Plus subscription first. No grace period or restore window was found in the pages read. TraceErase read Deliveroo’s privacy policy and help pages on 7 October 2026 and 8 October 2026 but has not signed in to run the flow.

Before you start

A Deliveroo account holds details such as your name, phone number, delivery address and payment method. Those are the details the policy says you can change in the Account section.

Roofoods Ltd trades as Deliveroo. The privacy policy says DoorDash, Inc. may also be a controller for some processing.

This page covers the Deliveroo customer account on the UK website and app. Rider and partner accounts are separate and not covered. The deletion steps were described for the website; the app steps were not read.

Deliveroo’s policy says it keeps data only as long as reasonably needed for its purposes and legal, tax or accounting duties, and may keep it longer if there is a complaint or likely litigation.

  • Cancel Deliveroo Plus. Do it before the end of the billing cycle to avoid another charge.
  • Ask for a copy first if you want one. Deliveroo says it shares the copy through a third-party secure method.
  • Be ready for an identity check. If you email the data protection officer, expect to be asked to verify your identity.
  • Check for partner marketing. Partner marketing you opted into at checkout is unsubscribed through the partner, not Deliveroo.
  • Do not assume a restore window. None was found in the pages read, so check what Deliveroo shows before you confirm.

Close the account

Done through the website. You need to sign in to your account first.

  1. Sign in to your Deliveroo account on the website.
  2. Open the profile icon at the top right.
  3. Choose Account details.
  4. Scroll to the bottom and choose Delete account.
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts.
  6. If you have Deliveroo Plus, cancel it first on the Account page or through customer care.

Limits to know about

  • The policy gives the DPO address for exercising rights and does not describe a separate complaints route; contacting the DPO first is the natural step, not a stated complaints procedure.

Deleting the account versus asking the data protection officer

Deleting the account yourself and writing to the data protection officer are two separate routes. The policy says deleting the account deletes the account and its personal information, except details Deliveroo must or has a reason to keep. The officer route is for exercising your rights directly, and you should expect an identity check.

The policy gives the officer address for exercising rights but does not describe a separate complaints procedure. Contacting the officer first is the natural step, and you can complain to the ICO if you remain unhappy.

Copy of your data and marketing

For a copy, the policy points to an email to the data protection officer, giving the email address on your account. It also points general privacy queries to a contact form.

Marketing can be turned off in Contact Preferences or with the unsubscribe link in a marketing email, and push notifications are changed in your phone settings. Deliveroo says it still sends service messages after you opt out of marketing.

What to expect afterwards

What changes or is lost

  • The privacy policy says deleting the account deletes the personal information linked to it, except details Deliveroo must or has a reason to keep.

What may be kept. Policy says data is kept only as long as reasonably needed for its purposes and legal, tax or accounting duties, and may be kept longer if there is a complaint or likely litigation.

What TraceErase does here, and what you do

  • You follow the organisation’s steps above on its own site or app, and send any request yourself. TraceErase does not log in to your accounts, does not hold your passwords and does not send requests to Deliveroo for you.
  • TraceErase shows the guidance it checked and the date, prepares an editable draft request from a template, and keeps a record of what you sent and when, with provisional response dates worked out from the dates you enter.
  • A directory listing is not proof that you have an account, and following these steps is not proof that the organisation has erased anything. The organisation decides its own reply.
